International Poetry Competition

Student authors are "Taking the World By Storm!" in America, Great Britain and The Netherlands in the commemoration of the 400th anniversary of the Pilgrims' landing in the US in 2020. "Let us remember: One book, one pen, one child and one teacher can change the world." - Malala Yousafzai illustrates why worldwide partnerships between schools can make a difference.

In this 5th edition of the Plymouth Anthology of Young People's Writing, students in three countries have been encouraged to submit poems and short stories for consideration, and winning entries have been selected. US high school Art students have created illustrations to accompany those pieces that inspire them. Ten RLO poems were published. The English Department would like to congratulate the winning students on their publication: Sybrand van Luik and Justin Imthorn uit 6 vwo, Mats van Diest and Benjamin de Vries uit tto 1, Lisanne Chen, René van Koppen, Dante Oskam, Shir-el Schaap, Mahshid Shahsavari and Justine Ulrich uit tto 2.
