Our trip to Rijksmuseum van Oudheiden
On the 9th of March, MP1 went to a museum. This museum was in Leiden, where we went first by bus, and then we walked from Leiden Centraal Station to the museum. On our way, we could choose if we wanted to go to Burger King or McDonald's. Most of the class chose McDonald's, so we went there.
We were supposed to be at the museum at 12:15, but we arrived at 12 o' clock. The museum had 3 different floors. The top floor was about Greece. The second floor was about Greece and Egypt. And the bottom floor was about only Egypt. Our assignment was to find 5 different things that we had learned about this school year. And we were also allowed to bring money with us for the gift shop. There you could buy scarab necklaces, lucky charms (in shapes of stones) which had different words like wealth, wise and wish, a small version of the Rosetta Stone (also could have been bought in a much bigger size, but no one in our class could afford it because it cost 45 euros) and pencils and key rings.
Flat packed hats project
In Technology, MP1 have started a Flat Packed Hats Project. Students got different countries to make a hat from. We are supposed to make a hat for Ikea because it has made it's 100th shop in Europe (Not in real, but we are supposed to imagine that it has made it's 100th shop). These hats are given to customers who buy something. They will get it for free to celebrate Ikea's 100th shop in Europe. MP1 have already started their prototype of their hats. They have had 8 different steps already for the hat. The first step was to make a Journal to tell what they did every week. The second step was to make an Image Board and to explain about the country they got. These are some of the countries people got: France, Switzerland, England, Italy and Greece.
First term of drama
It's term 3, and MP1 have started drama. They have been learning about flat and round characters. Flat characters are characters that have only 1 role usually found in comedies. A round character is a character with more than 1 role. MP1 have been acting out in groups, but also alone. At first we were allowed to choose our groups (if we were in groups), but later on our teacher would decide the groups. We also have had to make "family pictures", where there are some people and we take a "picture".
MP1 teaching group 7 from Elckerlyc how to use microscopes
On the 10th of March, group 7 from Elckerlyc, came to our school. In Science MP1 were supposed to be the teachers. We had our own groups, which we had to teach. We taught them how to use microscopes. I think everyone in MP1 and even in group 7 enjoyed the day. Group 7 were given sheets to sketch what they saw under the microscope. They were also taught what to with the paper. Like where to put their name, where to put their class and date, etc.
